Gradients

-See what I mean? Similiar, yet different. Just a simple gradient in a Greyscale doc. Yes, we are still on single channel D-Maps.

Alright. So let's get to playing with this bad boy.

-

There we have it. That's what our D-Map does horizontally. It's got Squish Factor.

Consider the first one. Normally, White grabs from the right horizontally, but we are using a negative value. That means white will grab from the left (you can see Wrap Around did it's thing). Black normally grabs from the left, but it grabbed from the right with a negative, and again, Wrap Around did it's things.

With a positive value, the D-Map expanded Biker Chic. On the left side, White grabbed from the right with decreasing distance until it's Grey in the middle. Jeez. Something like that.

Let's see what the D-Map does horizontally.

See that? It skews as well, but in a different manner than the first.

They skewed examples might look the same at a glance, but they are not. After having seen one skewed example on one page, and then another skewed example on the other, they do look the same to a casual eye. I was actually confused by this myself as I'm writing this.

That's enough messing around with that. Let's move on to some really simple two channel D-Maps with really simple gradients.
